Am I too ______ to do yoga?

(insert word out your choice….old, stiff, weak, out of shape, hyper, etc.)

No you are not “too” any of those things. Yoga is practiced by millions of people, and all of them very different. If you have a true desire to do yoga, you can do yoga. We guarantee that if you give this yoga stuff a little time and effort, you will be amazed by how you feel. Now that we’ve got that out of the way….

Where are you located?

At 2891 Richmond Road. We’re in front of Lowes and behind Sunshine Grow Shop. Yes, that FUNky wood building that you’ve always been curious about. We’re upstairs in Suite 202. Trust me, you will love our space!

Do I need to pre-register for class?

No, you don’t have to pre-register. However if you want to you can do so online here.

What should I wear?

Something that is comfortable that you can move freely in. Sweat pants, leggings, yoga pants, and a fitted shirt will work nicely. We don’t recommend loose fitting t-shirts as they can get in the way of your practice. We’ll be in our bare feet so no fancy shoes needed.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

If you have one then bring it along. If you don’t own a yoga mat we have a few extras that you are welcome to borrow. However, if you stick to your yoga practice we recommend that you purchase your own.

Do you have a place I can change before/after class?

Yes we have two restrooms. You are welcome to use to prepare yourself before class and freshen up after class.

Do you have showers available?

Sorry, we do not.

How early should I arrive for class?

If you are coming for your first time, please get here 10-15 minutes early to complete a registration form. We recommend all of our students get here about 10 minutes early for class. Some classes are more crowded that others so this allows you plenty of time to sign in, get your yoga props, find a spot and settle in for class.

How late is too late to come in for class?

We really encourage students to be on time. Our studio is one big open space, so when you enter late it is a disruption to the rest of the class. We understand that there are times you can’t prevent being late. If you know that you’ll be delayed more than 10 minutes, we recommend that you don’t come for class that day. But please practice at home!

I have an injury/medical condition. Can I still practice yoga at Barefoot Works?

Usually, yes. For serious injuries we recommend that you consult with your doctor before beginning a yoga practice. If you’re unsure please call or email us. We also recommend taking private yoga lessons prior to beginning group classes if you have a serious injury. Read more about private sessions and yoga therapy sessions .

It’s pretty warm at your studio. Why don’t you keep it cooler?

We agree that it gets warm at Barefoot Works. You can expect the temperature to range between 75-80 degrees. Yoga is meant to be a detoxifying practice. Sweating is ok. It’s good! If you sweat a lot we recommend bringing a hand towel to class. We understand that heat can aggravate some of you. If this is the case we recommend that you attend one of our less vigorous classes such as Yin Yoga and Yoga for Stress Relief.

What forms of payment do you accept?

What is the cancellation policy for yoga teacher training?
